Dustin Poirier Reveals Multiple Injuries Following UFC 302 Loss

Last Saturday, Islam Makhachev defended his Lightweight Championship against Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 302. Makhachev put a D'arce choke on Poirier in the fifth and final round to retain the title. The Diamond suffered multiple injuries during and before the fight.

On X, Dustin Poirier stated that he suffered a broken nose, a broken rib, and a partially torn ACL. The 35-year-old also stated that his nose was broken after an accidental headbutt from Makhachev. Poirier sustained the ACL tear in the third-round takedown from Makhachev. Dustin Poirier’s coach, Yves Edwards, stated that Poirier was dealing with a broken rib a week before the fight.

The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board has suspended Dustin Poirier indefinitely due to the injuries.
