This past Friday’s SmackDown took place at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. The Bloodline kicked off the show. Paul Heyman said that John Cena had a transportation issue and AJ Styles is in the hospital. Jimmy Uso said that Cena was scared of him. Karl Anderson then ambushed Jimmy and Solo. Anderson challenged either of them to a match. Solo told Jimmy to handle that issue.
Jimmy Uso defeated Karl Anderson with a splash. Solo and Jimmy attacked Anderson after the match. During the entrance stage, Michin slapped Jimmy.
Austin Theory defeated Cameron Grimes with an A-Town Down.
Rey Mysterio defeated Santos Escobar to retain the United States Championship. The Street Profits attacked LWO after the match. Bobby Lashley was impressed by Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins and welcomed back to the team.
Charlotte Flair defeated Bayley with a Spear. After the match, Damage CTRL surrounded Charlotte. Asuka made the save. The Empress said something in Japanese. Bayley thought she challenged Iyo Sky to a title match. The Role Model then said Sky will defend her title against Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat match at Fastlane.
In the final segment, LA Knight saved John Cena from The Bloodline’s attack. Knight signed the contract to become Cena’s tag team partner at Fastlane.
According to Nielsen via SpoilerTV, the September 29th episode of WWE SmackDown drew 2.303 million viewers on FOX and a 0.60 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
