This past Friday’s SmackDown took place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. Grayson Waller kicked off the show with The Grayson Waller Effect. Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar appeared as special guests. Austin Theory interrupted Rey and Escobar. Theory demanded Adam Pearce that he should overturn Rey’s title win. LA Knight then interrupted Theory and challenged him to a match. Pearce announced that the winner of the match between Theory and Knight would receive a US Title opportunity. Austin Theory won the match with help from The Miz.
Bianca Belair & Charlotte Flair defeated Iyo Sky & Bayley in a Tag Team match. In a backstage segment, Damage Control attacked the EST.
Street Profits defeated Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson in a Tag Team match.
Paul Heyman told Kayla Braxton that Jimmy Uso will appear on the upcoming Friday Night SmackDown.
In the main event, Edge defeated Sheamus.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the August 18th episode of WWE SmackDown drew 2.094 million viewers on FOX and a 0.55 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (August 11) drew 2.097 million viewers on FOX and a 0.55 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
